Alius.
Alius is the wholesale supplier for installers in the energy transition. Solar panels, inverters, heat pumps, charging stations, battery storage, energy management systems — everything an installer needs to make homes and businesses more sustainable. With a corporate site at alius.nl and a closed B2B webshop at mijnalius.nl, Alius serves a customer base accustomed to customer-specific pricing, fast deliveries and technical expertise. We have been working together for years and built the shop from the ground up.
A brief overview
We took over the project from a fellow agency. The shop now runs fully on Hyvä with Hyvä Checkout, Magento has been upgraded to 2.4.8, and the codebase has been modernised step by step.
B2B platform with customer-specific pricing
Mijnalius.nl is a partially closed B2B environment: prices, stock and order buttons are only visible after logging in. Each customer sees their own agreed prices, including tiered pricing, retrieved from Microsoft Business Central. We built an async price-fetching mechanism so that catalogue pages load quickly despite the customer-specific data.
Business Central integration via NVision
Microsoft Business Central is the ERP system that forms the backbone. Together with our integration partner NVision Commerce Solutions we ensure that customer data, product prices, tiered pricing, stock and order status continuously synchronise. We maintain the connector, resolve compatibility issues and keep the integration running reliably — including patches for specific edge cases with tier pricing in the checkout.
Training platform
Alius offers training and courses for professionals. We built a training module with a calendar view (FullCalendar), overview pages and detail pages — fully styled in Tailwind and integrated into the Magento installation.
Quotes and support cases
Business customers can request quotes, which are fed back from Business Central into the customer account. We also built a case management system in the customer portal, including drag-and-drop, pagination and status display — so customers can track their questions and reports.
Smart ordering
The checkout has been extended with desired delivery dates, additional fees with a contact form, pickup options and cross-sell products. Bundle products are supported for composite items. And with the "contact for purchase" feature, customers can get in touch directly for products that are not available for online ordering.
Multiple customer portals
In addition to the standard customer account, we built integrations for specific large customers, including redirects and a REST API endpoint for adding products to the shopping cart from external systems.
Continuous development
With Playwright tests in the CI/CD pipeline, Sentry for error monitoring, RUMvision for Core Web Vitals, Varnish 6 for full page caching and regular Magento upgrades, we keep the platform secure, fast and reliable.
