On Thursday 19 November we are hosting a free online masterclass on the B2B customer portal: what it needs to do in 2026 and how to set it up for your shop. 45 minutes, Q&A included. Sign up via WebinarGeek.
The modern B2B buyer does their job on your webshop during the day and on Bol and Amazon in the evening. What they are used to there (ordering 24/7, seeing prices without sending an email, order status in the app, reordering in two clicks) they expect from your shop too. If you don't deliver, the order goes to a competitor who does.
At the same time, sales capacity is under pressure. Every minute your account managers spend keying in orders, forwarding order confirmations and looking up delivery times is a minute that does not go into new revenue. In many B2B companies, 30 to 40% of commercial time disappears into work that a customer portal should handle automatically.
A good customer portal fixes that. Customers order on their own, reorder on their own initiative, see their own price agreements, check order status and download invoices. Sales moves on to what it should really be doing: acquisition and account growth.
In this online masterclass we show how to set up your platform for this, where it usually goes wrong and how to make the right choices within your industry (wholesale, manufacturing, machine building).
What you take away
After 45 minutes you know:
- What a mature B2B customer portal needs to do at a minimum.
- Which functionality works for your industry: customer-specific prices, project modules, install base with spare parts and multi-company accounts.
- How machine builders connect install base to their webshop, so customers order the right parts themselves based on the machine they have on site.
- Where most B2B webshops get stuck on self-service, and which architecture mistake you can already avoid today.
- How to decide whether your current shop is ready for this step, or whether something else needs to happen first.
Who is this masterclass for?
This online masterclass is for you if you:
- Are a commercial director, CEO or e-commerce manager at a B2B company in wholesale, manufacturing or machine building.
- Work at an organisation of roughly 50 to 1,000 employees.
- Already have a B2B webshop, but feel there is more to gain. Think of customers asking for self-service, sales spending too much time on manual work and orders that still arrive by email.
- Want to take the next step with your customer portal, but want to know where to start and what it delivers.
Who will talk you through it?
