Ever wondered how to quickly optimize the images in your Magento 2 store? We have been working with image optimization solution Imgix for quite a while now. We're such big fans, we even wrote and open-sourced a Magento 2 extension for their service!
Using this extension, all images on your shop (so not just the product & category images) are optimized. That means their filesize is smaller and they are served in WebP if possible. But Imgix is much more powerful than that; you can also do all kinds of image manipulation.
One example of this is on the authors page of our client Uitgeverij Pluim. The author head shots (which are served from the Prismic CMS) are automatically cropped & zoomed in on the author's face - no manual editing required!
